How to forward your emails from your SCC email to another email address
This article will teach you how to set up your school email account to automatically forward your emails to another email address.
Log in to your school email and click on the settings icon in the upper right corner of the page. It's the icon that looks like a gear.
When the Quick settings window opens next to it, click on the See all settings button.
On the Settings page, click on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab at the top.
You'll see the button to Add a forwarding address. Click on it.
In the Add a forwarding address window that opens, type the email address you want to forward your emails to in the blank text field and click Next.
This window will disappear and a confirmation window will open. Verify that the email address you are forwarding to is correct and click Proceed.
This window will close and a final window will open verifying that a code has been sent to the forwarding email address. Click OK to close this notification.
Back on the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab, you'll now see your other email address listed under the forwarding section. You should, at this point, open your other email and verify it so that forwarding can begin. If you don't get the verification email, click Re-send email to send it again. You can also click on Remove address to stop forwarding email to the other address.
Once the email address is verified, the options under forwarding change to either:
- Disable forwarding
- Forward a copy of incoming mail to [forwarding email address]
Forwarding a copy keeps a copy of the email in your SCC email as well.
Choose what happens to the copy of the email in your SCC email using the drop down menu just below. This will decide what happens to every email copy that is kept in your SCC email. The default option is to keep the email in your inbox.
And that's it! You now can manage your SCC email from either your SCC email inbox or the email address you are forwarding them to. Keep in mind that if you reply to the forwarded emails from inside your other email, the email replies will have your other email address listed as the email they are coming from when the reply goes back to the person that emailed you.
